Today we launched a new and improved way to manage the pages for your personal wedding website.
You can now easily add, rename, show/hide, reorder, and even delete the pages on your website in the usual intuitive nature that we strive for.
When you are logged in and editing your wedding website you will notice a new item in the ‘user area’ (top right of your website). There is now a link for ‘Pages’. To manage the pages for your wedding website, click on this link and you will be brought to the ‘Pages’ settings page. Here you will see a list of the pages on your website, each one in a box. Here is a list of what you can do:
- To MOVE a page (so that it appears in a different order in your website menu) just drag and drop the page to a new position. You can also do this directly on your website.
- To RENAME a page just click on the name, type the new name for the page into the box that appears, and hit ‘Save’. You can only rename pages here (not on the website itself). Renaming a page is ideal if you want to convert your website to another language, or if you just don’t like the names we used to start you off with.
- To ADD a page go to the bottom and you will see a section called ‘Add A New Page’. Just type in the name and hit the ‘Add’ button. An empty page will be added and it will be shown by default.
- To SHOW OR HIDE a page just check (to show) or uncheck (to hide) the checkbox beside the name of the page. Hit ‘Save Changes’ to make the changes final. Hiding a page will keep the contents of it saved, so this is better to do than deleting it.
- To DELETE a page just click on the ‘X’ button to the right of the page name. Please be careful when deleting pages. You get a warning, but if you do delete the page everything on it will get deleted and you won’t be able to get it back!
One final note on page names. Each name must be unique, and it will converted to a word with ‘_’ instead of spaces for the url. The converted name must also be unique. There are also a few reserved words that you can’t use (i.e. ’settings’). When adding a name you will get a warning if you break any of these rules. When renaming a page there won’t be a warning, but you will see the old name after you hit ‘Save’ if you break any of these rules.
So now you will have more options to manage the pages on your personal wedding websites which will allow you to make them even more personal!
